P5 Virtual Instruments

Project5 bundles several software synthesizers, but it is also an open platform which means many third-party instruments are available to be used in Project5 has well as its bundled instruments. This is a non-exhaustive list of some of the instruments that some Project5 users utilize in their projects.

Bundled Synths

• Cyclone DXi

  
  • Using SONAR 5's Cyclone Loop Tool Craig Anderson has written an article for Sound on Sound magazine focusing on Cyclone DXi. Again, originated with SONAR, but applicable to Project5.
  • The Art of Remixing: Part II This is part two of a Cakewalk tech tip on remixing. Part II has a section on using Cyclone DXi in remixing.

• Dimension

  

  Note: This section was started based on the Dimension synth that is a part of the P5 V2.0 software release. It has had some updates as later versions of P5 have been released, some of the information may apply to Dimension Pro or Dimension LE, but the focus here is the bundled versions of Dimension. • PSYN Synth

  
  • Program Your Own Lead Sound in PSYN: Basic Programming This is an article by Cakewalk about programming sounds in PSYN. It originally appeared on the old Project5.com web site but since that site has been taken down after the P5 product development ceased it has been republished here.
  • PSYN-Tology is a set of studies by P5 user Tom Brockway (b rock) into the depths of the PSYN synthesizer. These were originally published in the P5 forum, but Techead has compiled the entire collection into a single PDF available here.
